If you live in St. Petersburg, Tampa or anywhere in Florida, contact Access Marijuana RX today online or at 727-209-5470 to schedule a private, one-on-one consultation with Dr. Brown. These initial consultations are risk-free; if Dr. Brown does not believe that medical marijuana is appropriate for your condition, you will not be charged for your visit.

How do you get started? Just follow the simple steps listed below.

Step 1: Schedule Your Appointment

The process of obtaining cannabis to treat your medical condition begins by scheduling a personal medical evaluation with Dr. Brown. This initial visit can be performed in-person at our St. Petersburg location or via our online telehealth portal.

Step 2: Get Evaluated by Our Doctor

To obtain medical marijuana in Florida, you must receive a recommendation from a state-approved physician. During your initial consultation, Dr. Brown will assess your condition and symptoms and determine whether or not medical cannabis is an appropriate treatment for your specific needs. This meeting can be conducted virtually, through the AMRX telehealth portal or in person at our lovely St. Petersburg facility.

Your disease or condition must have a prior diagnosis before Dr. Brown can recommend treatment with medical cannabis. It is helpful to bring copies of your medical records and diagnosis to your initial evaluation, but it is not necessary. Our staff can work with your health care provider to obtain any necessary and relevant documentation.

Florida law mandates that a medical marijuana patient must have an established relationship with a state-approved MMJ doctor for 90 days prior to a cannabis recommendation.

Once you have undergone your initial evaluation, the 90-day countdown begins.

Step 3: Follow Up with Dr. Brown within 90-Day Waiting Period

In addition to your initial consultation, state law requires that you have one follow-up visit with your medical marijuana physician within the initial 90-day waiting period. We will typically set the date for your follow-up visit at the conclusion of your initial evaluation, so you will leave your consultation with a date already saved on your calendar.

While either the initial visit or follow-up visit can happen face-to-face or over the Internet, at least one of those visits must be conducted in person to comply with Florida law. We understand that depending on where you live, an in-person meeting can be difficult to arrange. In these situations, contact AMRX to learn when one of our state-wide traveling clinics will be near your area.

Step 4: Legally Obtain Your Medical Marijuana

After your follow-up visit and at the conclusion of your 90-day waiting period, you will be ready to obtain your medical marijuana. On the 90th day, visit our office in person or online. We will register you into the Compassionate Care Registry and provide you with a recommendation to bring with you to a dispensary of your choice.

You will not receive any medical marijuana from AMRX, only the legal recommendation.

Step 4: Receive Your Medical Marijuana Card by Mail

Once you have been registered into the Compassionate Care Database, your medical marijuana card will be sent to you in the mail. While you must be registered in the database in order to purchase cannabis from a dispensary, you do not need to have your medical marijuana card on hand. You will simply need your state ID; your dispensary can confirm your registration status online for you.

Step 5: Maintain Ongoing Care

Medical marijuana eligibility must be renewed quarterly, according to Florida law. Online check-ins must be conducted every 90 days in order to maintain your recommendations.

The following prices apply to both in person and online visits:

  • Initial Evaluation: $225
  • Quarterly follow-up: $150
